Next year David Livingstone Birthplace will reopen after a major redevelopment. Scotland Malawi Partnership are excited to have been commissioned by the David Livingstone Trust to develop inspiring video and photographic content for the last and largest room in the museum, which will now explore Livingstone’s contemporary legacy.

Scotland Malawi Partnership are delighted to potentially offer members the opportunity to have their work visible in this major Scottish heritage attraction, celebrated as part of Livingstone’s living legacy, and seen by more than 20,000 people a year.

If you think your work has been inspired by the work and travels of Dr. Livingstone and if you have a really inspiring, vibrant, powerful photo or two, which captures the essence of your Scotland-Malawi link, please e-mail beata@scotland-malawipartnership.org.

Scotland Malawi Partnership are keen to collect a number of high-quality images which capture the energy and human spirit of partnership, which makes up such a key part of Livingstone's legacy. They will also be recording short video interviews with around 30 individuals in the coming months, in Scotland, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana.

For this Scotland Malawi Partnership are looking for a diverse range of both expert and personal views, and they are especially interested in themes around colonialism, slavery, women’s role (hidden histories) and contemporary Africa.

Scotland Malawi Partnership wish to have a range of opinions about Livingstone’s living legacy. If you think you would make a good interviewee, or if you could recommend someone, please contact beata@scotland-malawipartnership.org.
